We are pleased to share that the Palm City nursery is now fully operational. At present, the nursery holds 60,000 seedlings, enough to establish an oil palm plantation of about 1,000 acres.
To support this capacity, we installed a 30,000-litre water reservoir with a semi-automated irrigation system. The system runs on a 4.5hp solar pump and a 200-metre-deep borehole, powered by a 4200kW solar panel. This ensures reliable water supply through clean and sustainable energy.
Security has also been strengthened. A Counter Terrorism Unit from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps is now deployed on-site, supported by CCTV solar cameras, floodlights, and a 24/7 monitoring system. In addition, perimeter fencing has been completed to safeguard the seedlings.
Palm City is making steady progress and laying a solid foundation for a sustainable oil palm project.
